Guide Rod Laser
I installed my laser, but it won't turn on.
It's important to pay attention to correct orientation of the battery cap when installing the laser sight. Refer back to that portion of the installation manual to be sure you have installed the laser sight correctly.
I can't find where the batteries are located to change them.
In all of our Guide Rod Lasers, the batteries are located inside the tube of the laser. Depending on your model, the battery cap will either twist off, or need to be pulled off. Once off, the batteries can be accessed and changed. The battery cap is located at the end of the tube that has the gold pin in the center.
Will my Guide Rod Laser fit in any of my other firearms?
Due to the differences among the internal makeup of each firearm, the Guide Rod Laser is model specific. So the Guide Rod Laser for GLOCK is not compatible with Beretta, etc.
How can I adjust my Guide Rod Laser alignment?
The Guide Rod Laser is factory aligned to hit center of mass. They are permanently aligned and cannot be adjusted. However, the Guide Rod Laser for 1911 style pistols can be adjusted for windage and elevation due to the variance between the different manufacturers of 1911 pistols. LaserMax does offer a custom alignment service. Contact our warranty office for more information.
Why does the laser on my sub-compact pistol look dimmer than the one on my full size pistol?
The Guide Rod laser on the sub-compact pistol is much smaller in diameter because of the size of the factory guide rod. With the smaller tube dimension, it makes the dot size smaller and requires smaller batteries. In order to maximize the power from the batteries, the pulsating cycle is much lower which gives it the look of a dimmer beam, when actually all of our lasers are 5mW lasers and are the same brightness.
UNI-MAX RED
How do I attach a tactical light to the Uni-Max?
Simply follow the manufacturer's instructions for attaching the accessory to the firearm. The Uni-Max rail is identical to a Picatinny-style firearm rail.
How much adjustment can I make on my Uni-Max red laser system?
There is approximately +/- 10 inches range of motion adjustment available.
Do I need a separate switch if I want to put the Uni-Max on my black rifle?
Depending on where you mount the laser on your rifle, and your personal preference, a Momentary Activation Switch (MAS) is available as an accessory. The switch can also be used on the Uni-Green laser.
Where can I find replacement batteries for the Uni-Max?
The batteries used to power the Uni-Max red laser can be readily found wherever small electronics batteries are sold. They are likely to be located wherever hearing aids, or watches are being sold. You can also purchase them directily from the LaserMax website.

MICRO
The Micro is too narrow to fit on my pistol.
There are variances in rail width and height between manufacturers of pistols. The Micro is designed to slide onto the rail from the front, but sometimes it requires snapping onto the rail by lining up one side of the rail, and snapping the other side of the rail on the opposite side into place. Once snapped onto the rail, simply insert the clamping screw and tighten until Micro grips rail firmly.
How much adjustment can I make on my MICRO red laser system?
There is approximately +/- 10 inches range of motion adjustment available.
I lost the clamping screw to my MICRO, where can I get a replacement?
The clamping screw is currently only sold through the LaserMax website under Parts. If your laser is under warranty, contact the warranty department for further assistance.
GENESIS
Why are there two clamping screw positions but only one clamping screw in the package?
The Genesis comes with one clamping screw. It is recommended to use the slot closest to the center of the unit to mount the product to a firearm. However, the second slot can be used on guns with longer rails. Only one clamping screw is needed to secure the Genesis.
Can I replace the battery on the Genesis?
The battery installed in the Genesis is not designed to be user-replaced. If the battery no longer keeps an acceptable charge, simply contact LaserMax customer service. We offer a battery replacement service on the Genesis for a flat fee of $75.
My Genesis shut off without me touching the activation switch
The Genesis is equipped with a 10 minute timeout switch in case the laser is accidentally activated and left unattended for that duration of time. To reactivate the laser, simply cycle the activation switch again.
J-MAX
Can I use my own grips when I have my J-Max installed on my revolver?
The J-Max was designed with the activation switches located in the special recoil absorbing Santoprene grips. Replacing the grips supplied with the J-Max laser would prevent the activation of the laser, and your grips would not install since the J-Max side plate and batteries would prevent that.
How much adjustment can I make on my J-Max red laser system?
There is approximately +/- 10 inches range of motion adjustment available.
I changed the batteries in my J-Max and now it doesn't work.
There is a correct orientation of the batteries when they are installed. Check to be sure the flat side of the batteries are facing up before tightening the battery plate and replacing the grips of the J-Max.
SABRE
I can't get the Sabre to fit on my sub-compact GLOCK
The Sabre is currently available for the compact GLOCK (LMS-SA-GC), and for the full size GLOCK (LMS-SA-GF). The sub-compact models of GLOCK and the SF models are not compatible with these versions of Sabre.
How much adjustment can I make on my Sabre red laser system?
There is approximately +/- 10 inches range of motion adjustment available.
The Sabre looks a little crooked on my firearm.
In order to completely install the Sabre on the GLOCK frame, the LaserMax roll pin must be completely flush on both sides of the frame. Just pushing the pin through the frame does not lock it in on both sides. To be positive it's installed correctly, inspect both roll pin holes while the Sabre is on the frame and see that the pin is completely seated in the holes, and it's flush.
