FAQ's
| 1.) | What is the warranty on the LaserMax Internal Guide Rod Laser? Three (3) years. Excludes expendable parts (batteries, battery caps, shock buffs, recoil springs).
| | 2.) | When will the guide rod be out in green? We have built prototypes of green guide rods, and will provide green guide rods as product as soon as the technology becomes advanced enough to come in intimate contact with the gun. For now, if you want green, the Uni-Green on a Picatinny (M1913) or Weaver rail is the way to go.
| | 3.) | How long do the batteries last?We recommend that users change their batteries once a year. Shooters who practice more than average may want to change them more often. If you left you laser on continuously, they would last about 90 minutes.
| | 4.) | How much do the internal guide rod lasers cost? The GLOCKS and the XDs carry a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $349. The others are $399. Discounts are available for military, law enforcement, and NRA Certified Instructors.
| | 5.) | Will the laser be aligned if my gun is compensated? Possibly not. LaserMax are sighted in for standard gun models. LaserMax does offer a custom alignment service, however. Contact customerservice@lasermax.com or call 1-800-527-3703 for assistance.
| | 6.) | Why is the beam pulsating? Our eyes notice pulsating beams faster than continuous-on beams. This is why emergency vehicles use them. This allows the user to stay aware of the muzzle direction while scanning the scene for threats, etc.
| | 7.) | Can I change the pulsating beam of my guide rod laser to a continuous-on beam? No. See #6 above.
| | 8.) | How far down range is the sight visible? If you can see your target, you will be able to see the beam provided you are using it indoors or from dusk-to-dawn outdoors. Not intended for daylight use out-of-doors.
| | 9.) | How difficult is the internal guide rod laser to install? Assuming you can field strip your weapon for cleaning your gun, you can install the LaserMax. Is usually takes a few minutes. Be sure to clear all ammo before field stripping your gun (see the manual for your gun for details).
| | 10.) | Will installing the internal guide rod laser void the warranty on my handgun? No, firearms manufacturers generally recognize the LaserMax as after-market parts that will not damage the weapon.
| | 11.) | I am thinking of installing a guide rod laser on my carry gun, exactly how reliable is it? Provided you (a) install the correct model, and (b) install it correctly, you should have no problems.
*GLOCK users note: GLOCK has changed their frames recently and some users have reported intermittency and/or switch stiffness. Most users will not be affected, but if your switch feels stiff or the laser activates or deactivates with recoil, click here for upgrade kit. Any other questions or concerns, please call our friendly customer service team at 1-800-527-3703 or customerservice@lasermax.com and we will be happy to help you.
| | 12.) | How do I know if the LMS-1151P-FGR is the right laser to use for my GLOCK 20/21? If you have finger grooves (Figure 1) or a tactical light rail (Figure 2), use the LMS-1151P-FGR. If you have a much older model GLOCK, then you will need the saddle block included in the 1151P model. Note the models have different alignments, so be sure to choose the right one.
